The till that takes payment, prints and reports
Take card payments on a Stripe reader, where your customer sees their cart, or cash with the change rounded to 5¢. The receipt prints or goes out by email or text message, and the sale is reported to Revenu Québec's MEV-WEB. On the InnoBooks POS tablet or in the browser, the till shares your items, discounts and receipts with the rest of InnoBooks.
By card or in cash
Card payments, credit or Interac debit, go through a Stripe reader connected to the Internet. As you add items, the customer sees their cart on the reader's screen. On the tablet, a declined card is explained plainly: insufficient funds, expired card, wrong PIN.
In cash, the till works out the change, rounded to 5¢. On the tablet, a customer can also split the bill across several cards and cash, or pay with a gift certificate.

Discounts, promo codes and combos
Discounts are set up once, on the Discounts page of the web app: as a percentage or in dollars, on one item or the whole cart, automatic or not, with a minimum purchase and an end date. At the till, you apply them, enter a promo code, or give a dollar discount on the cart. Combos are recognised on their own.
An item with a variable price sells at the price you set, and on the tablet its name can change for a single sale.

Your staff at the till
On the tablet, each employee signs in with their PIN. Their cart waits for them if they are interrupted, and the till locks itself after a while. Tips are given as a percentage or an amount, in the server's name.
The employee's name follows each sale: it is reported to MEV-WEB, and you find it in the receipt list and in the sales report.

A barcode scanner, and it's in the cart
Plug in a barcode scanner that works like a keyboard: each product it reads goes into the cart. The EAN-13 barcodes on your own labels read the same way. Without a scanner, search filters the grid as you type.

Receipts printed, sent and corrected
The tablet finds the receipt printer on your network by itself, 58 or 80 mm. Does the customer prefer their receipt by email or text message? It goes out from the till.
A return is settled with a credit note, by amount or item by item, with its reason. Duplicates and reproductions print from the receipt list.

MEV-WEB compliant, even when Revenu Québec does not answer
Every sale is reported to Revenu Québec's MEV-WEB. If Revenu Québec's service does not answer, the till switches to offline mode on its own: you keep selling, it counts the transactions waiting and sends them as soon as it can, or when you ask it to.

Counter, platform and the order board
A counter sale or an order from a delivery platform? You pick the service type, and the sale is reported the right way.
On the tablet, the order board updates live, from « Pending » to « Completed ». A ready order loads into the cart in one tap.

Orders from your online store
Orders from your online store land on the same board, with the time the customer chose and their note. « Invoice » loads them into the cart: they become sales, with their receipt, and the stock follows.
Losses, recorded where they happen
An expired product, a preparation mistake, a staff meal: the loss is recorded from the tablet, with its reason, and its cost shows. Your inventory follows.

At closing time, in the web app
The till's sales report details amounts, quantities and products sold, by period and by employee. The cash count compares, denomination by denomination, the money you count with what should be there.

What your sales tell you
In the reports, the till's sales analysis goes further: revenue, cost and profit by item, sales hour by hour compared from one day to another, rising and falling products, returning customers, tips by employee and a production forecast.
What you need to start
InnoBooks' Point of sale option, an Android tablet for the InnoBooks POS app or a browser, and a Stripe card reader. For paper receipts, add a network receipt printer next to the tablet. The Restaurant plan already includes the point of sale.
