Scan your receipts and invoices with artificial intelligence
Take a photo of a supplier's receipt or invoice: InnoBooks reads the vendor, the date, the taxes and every line, and prepares the expense. You review it, then you save. The same artificial intelligence fills in your item sheets from a photo or a video.
Scan a supplier invoice: photo, review, save
In the expense form, tap « Take a photo », or attach the photo or PDF of a receipt or an invoice. No scanner needed: the camera on your phone or your computer will do. InnoBooks reads all the text on the document (OCR), then pulls out the vendor, the date, the total, the GST and QST, the tip if there is one, the payment date when it is printed, and every purchase line. The expense fields fill themselves in.
You check, you pick the category — the AI never guesses it — and you save. The receipt stays attached to the expense, and its text feeds your searches.

You always review before saving
Artificial intelligence can get it wrong, and a poor photo gives a poor reading: a blurry, cropped, folded or badly lit receipt will be misread. That is why InnoBooks shows you what it read instead of saving it for you.
When the lines do not add up to the receipt total, a warning tells you. When a date is ambiguous — is 03/09 March or September? — InnoBooks keeps the one closest to today and asks you to check it. An amount in US dollars is flagged. Nothing is saved until you click.

Automatic expense entry, line by line
When the receipt itemizes its purchases, InnoBooks suggests the matching item from your inventory for each line: « Matched », « Suggested » or « No match ». You confirm, pick another item, create a new one or ignore the line, then apply the lines to the expense. During the review, the gap with the last cost you paid is shown.
InnoBooks remembers your choices: on the next invoice from the same supplier, the same line finds its item on its own. When you save, the item's stock goes up and its last purchase price is updated.

Your invoices arrive by email as PDFs? Pick several, or a whole folder: each PDF is read and becomes an expense to review. Possible duplicates of an expense already entered are flagged, and you tick the ones to save, each with its category.
Later on, image search finds a purchase: drop in a photo of a product, and InnoBooks searches the text of your own receipts to show you where you bought it and at what price. A simple word works too.

The item sheet filled in from a photo
Add a product photo to its item sheet, and InnoBooks offers to read it: the ingredients and allergens, in French and in English, and the net quantity. Several photos of the same product — the front and the label on the back — are read together, in a single analysis. You tick what applies to the label, then you save the item.
A tilted photo is straightened automatically, and you can undo it. One click removes the background and puts the product on pure white, ready for your online store: you see the before and the after, and the original image only changes if you apply it.

Description and translation in one click
« Generate with AI » writes an item's description from its name, and from its category and ingredients when they are filled in.
If you have an online store, « Translate with AI » fills in the site's other language: the name, the description, the ingredients, the allergens and the instructions, all at once or field by field, in the web app as well as on the POS tablet. A translation you already wrote is only replaced with your consent, and the original text is never touched. You read it over, then you save.

Film your products, InnoBooks drafts the item sheets
Film your products one after the other, the front and then the label on the back, naming them out loud — and their selling price, if you like: the AI listens too. InnoBooks spots each product in the video and drafts its sheet: the name in French and in English, the main photo and the gallery taken from the video, the barcode, the net quantity, the ingredients and allergens, and a purchase price found in your receipts or your price history.
A product already in your catalogue is recognized and updated instead of being created twice; when InnoBooks is unsure, it offers the items with a similar name. You check every sheet: nothing is created until you confirm.

Bought an oven, a computer or a tool? On the Equipment page, « Suggest Equipment » lists the expenses not yet linked to a piece of equipment, and « AI Analyze » reads the receipt to pull out the device's name, its model, its serial number and the length of its warranty. Possible duplicates are flagged, and you add the ones you want.

The AI scans included in your plan
Every plan includes AI scans each month: 3 with the Departure Package, 20 with Professional Access, 100 with the Elite Plan and 200 with the Restaurant Package. The IA+ option adds 100 a month. The counter resets at the start of each month, and it shows wherever you scan.
One scan is: a receipt or an invoice, a search by photo, a label reading (even with several photos), a background removed, a product video. Translation, descriptions, photo straightening and equipment reading do not count, and a scan that is refused or fails costs nothing. In the reports, « AI Usage » lists every call: the date, the file, whether it counted, and its cost.
Receipt scanning, image search and the « AI Usage » report take the Professional Access or higher, which includes expenses and reports; your employees can then scan their own receipts. The item sheet tools are in every plan, for the administrator and the manager.

Where your photos and documents go
To be read, the photo, PDF or text is sent to Claude, Anthropic's artificial intelligence model: it reads your receipts, invoices, labels and documents, and writes the descriptions and translations. Three features go through Google's Gemini: background removal, photo straightening and the product video. Both services process the data outside Canada.
In InnoBooks, you keep what you save: the receipt attached to the expense, the fields you accepted, the item sheets you confirmed. The product video is deleted when you close the review; an abandoned video is deleted within two days.
